The Council on Aging (CoA) is the advisory board to the Department of Elder & Social Services. Its mission is to:

  • Identify the total needs of elders in the community
  • Educate citizens and enlist the support and participation of all to meet the needs of elders and recognize such assistance
  • Design, advocate for, and/or implement services to full these needs, and/or coordinate existing services
  • Cooperate with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, and the local Area Agency on Aging, and to be cognizant of state and federal legislation and programs regarding elders.

The Council on Aging generally meets on the first Monday of each month at 1:00 p.m., at 9 Milford Street, Upton, MA 01568.
